What is RouteSense?
RouteSense is a real-time payments intelligence platform. We give merchants continuous visibility into MID health, transaction performance, and network thresholds so they can optimize approvals, protect their MIDs, and stop flying blind.
How does RouteSense increase my approval rates?
When a transaction is declined, you don’t know if it’s your acquirer, the network, the issuer, or something else—it’s a black hole. RouteSense gives you the data to understand why declines are happening. If the same cards are getting approved on one MID but declined on another, that tells you something. We surface those patterns and, combined with MID health-aware routing, direct transactions to the MIDs most likely to approve. The result? Fewer false declines, and more revenue coming in.
How is RouteSense different from other orchestration platforms?
Most orchestration platforms rely on static load balancing or round-robin routing. With these methods, traffic is split with little to no data behind the decision. RouteSense routes based on real-time MID health, approval trends, dispute ratios, and MID thresholds. It’s data-driven decision-making, rather than guesswork.
What is MID health routing?
Instead of routing based on static rules or random splits, RouteSense routes based on how healthy each MID is in real time. If a MID is approaching a dispute threshold or volume limit, traffic is shifted to healthier MIDs. This keeps MIDs in good standing while maximizing throughput.
What data does RouteSense monitor?
We track over 35 MID-level data points, including dispute ratios, fraud reports (TC40s), authorization rates, approval trends, volume limits, and directional performance over time. All of this feeds into a continuously updated MID Health Score across all of your merchant accounts.
How does RouteSense help with VAMP compliance?
VAMP combines chargebacks and fraud reports (TC40s) into a single ratio. Most merchants don’t see this data until weeks after the fact. RouteSense provides near real-time visibility across all MIDs so action can be taken before thresholds are breached and fines or merchant account shutdowns occur.
Why haven’t I heard of TC40s before?
Most merchants historically focused only on chargebacks because that’s what was measured. TC40s are fraud reports filed by Visa whenever there’s a possible element of fraud. They can’t be disputed. For years, they were largely ignored, but with VAMP, they now count. RouteSense tracks them.
Does RouteSense prevent chargebacks or hide fraud?
No. RouteSense does not suppress disputes, alter network reporting, or interfere with Visa or Mastercard enforcement. All fraud reports and chargebacks are counted exactly as the networks intend. RouteSense is about visibility and proactive management, not evasion.
Is RouteSense a fraud detection tool?
No. RouteSense does not analyze transaction-level fraud signals. We monitor MID-level health and performance metrics. Fraud detection and chargeback prevention tools complement what we do.
Is MID health routing legitimate?
Yes. Merchants with multiple approved MIDs already distribute volume. Without real-time data, this distribution is often static or random, which can unintentionally overload individual MIDs. MID health routing aligns transaction flow with approved limits and reduces unnecessary concentration risk.
Who is RouteSense for?
Merchants operating multiple MIDs, ISOs managing portfolios, PSPs, and acquirers who want earlier visibility into risk and performance.
Does RouteSense replace my acquirer or processor?
No. RouteSense is gateway and processor agnostic. Your existing relationships remain intact.
What is MIDAS™?
MIDAS is the RouteSense system that translates raw payments data into a single, continuously updated view of MID health. It synthesizes performance trends, dispute and fraud signals, network thresholds, and directional risk into a real-time score and set of alerts that show which MIDs are strengthening, which are deteriorating, and why. MIDAS doesn’t just report data. It creates the decision signal that powers proactive monitoring and MID-health-aware routing across the platform.
